Maintaining compliance and ensuring user safety are of utmost importance at Inpro. With the introduction of the updated ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2022 standard, effective June 1, 2024, we have taken the proactive measures below to align our shade products with these new safety benchmarks, automatically shipping on all orders starting June 1st, 2024 and potentially orders shipping earlier. All quotes will reflect these changes as of May 1st.

To comply with the new standards, we've updated the language on our tags and labels.
Chain Guard Compliance:
Our Chain Guard remains compliant as a Rigid Cord Shroud.
New Tension Device:
A clear plastic tension device (TCHD22-98) will replace the current version for all shades manufactured from June 1, 2024, onward. *
*During the month of May, we will be transitioning orders to the new device, and all new quotes will include it. The significant changes include:
The tension device must now be permanently attached to the bead chain during manufacturing, maintain tension on the bead chain when correctly installed to ensure the full operation and safety of the shade, and meet the durability tests contained within the updated code.
Devices will be supplied with fasteners and instructions for wood substrates, with additional guidance for attaching to drywall and metal substrates, ensuring a minimum fastener manufacturer-rated or tested release force of 20 lbs (89 N).
WT Shade Cordless and Motorized Shades Compliance
Our CF Cordless and Motorized Shades, both certified as Best for Kids™, will continue to serve as compliant Cordless Operating Systems under the new standard.
